Sour liquid candy manufacturers

When sourcing sour liquid candy, compliance with food safety regulations is paramount. You must ensure the manufacturer holds HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO 22000 certifications. For the US market, FDA registration and compliance with the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) are mandatory. For the EU, products must adhere to EFSA regulations, specifically regarding permitted food colorings (E-numbers) and acidulant levels (Citric/Malic acid). Always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to verify the absence of heavy metals and microbial contaminants.

Liquid candy is prone to leakage and fermentation if not processed correctly. Ensure the packaging uses BPA-free, food-grade plastics (PET or PP) with induction-sealed caps to prevent leakage during transit. The typical shelf life should be 12 to 24 months; ask the supplier for accelerated stability test reports to confirm that the acidity levels do not degrade the packaging material over time. For spray or squeeze formats, verify the clog-resistance of the nozzle mechanism.

Key metrics include Brix level (sugar content), which usually ranges from 65% to 75% to ensure stability, and pH levels, which define the 'sourness' (typically between 2.5 and 3.5). You should also specify the viscosity to ensure the liquid flows correctly for the intended delivery method (spray, squeeze, or roller). Request natural fruit concentrates and natural flavorings if you are targeting the premium or health-conscious market segments.

Yes, most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You can customize the sourness intensity, flavor combinations (e.g., Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Strawberry), and colorants. For branding, ensure the supplier can provide full-color shrink sleeve labeling or custom-molded bottles. Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) for custom formulations typically start at 10,000 to 30,000 units.

The main risks are leakage, fermentation due to temperature fluctuations, and customs rejection due to improper labeling. To mitigate these, use reefer containers if shipping to extremely hot climates and ensure all labels include Ingredients in English/Local Language, Net Weight, Manufacturer Details, and Expiry Dates as per the destination country's laws. Always use reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons with internal dividers.

Utilize the Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. Before placing a large order, conduct a factory audit (either in person or via a third-party like SGS/Intertek) to verify the production environment's hygiene. Never pay 100% upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm for established buyers.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers. Suppliers often have significant price breaks at the 1x20GP container level because of production line efficiencies. You can also negotiate lower unit costs by providing your own packaging designs or opting for standard bottle shapes already owned by the factory to avoid tooling charges. Mention your intent for long-term seasonal contracts to secure 'preferred buyer' pricing.
