I have found results from400+products and200+suppliers aboutY/d slub fabric
When evaluating Y/d Slub Fabric, you must prioritize material composition (e.g., 100% cotton, linen-cotton blends, or synthetic mixes) and yarn count (typically ranging from 10s to 40s) which determines the fabric's thickness and hand-feel. The slub effect density—the frequency and thickness of the intentional irregularities in the yarn—is critical for achieving the desired aesthetic. Ensure the fabric weight (GSM) aligns with your end-use, such as 120-150 GSM for shirts or 200+ GSM for heavier apparel or home textiles.
Since the yarn is dyed before weaving, Y/d Slub Fabric generally offers superior color depth. However, you should request ISO 105-C06 testing for washing fastness and ISO 105-X12 for rubbing fastness. Aim for a Grade 4 or higher rating. Additionally, verify the shrinkage rate, which should ideally be kept under 3% for woven slub fabrics to ensure garment size stability after production.
For global markets, ensure the supplier provides OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to guarantee the absence of harmful substances. If you are targeting the EU, compliance with REACH regulations is mandatory. For organic slub fabrics, a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certificate is essential to validate the supply chain's integrity.
This fabric is highly versatile due to its unique texture. It is primarily used in casual apparel (shirts, dresses, and trousers) to provide a 'natural' or 'vintage' look. It is also a popular choice for home textiles, such as curtains, cushion covers, and table linens, where the textured slub adds visual interest and a premium tactile experience.
Color variance between different production batches (dye lots) is a common risk. You should require the supplier to provide Lab Dips for approval before mass production and request Shipping Samples from the actual bulk lot. Utilizing third-party inspections (like V-Trust or QIMA) to perform a color check under standard light sources (D65) before shipment is highly recommended.
When sourcing on Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers to ensure factory legitimacy. Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including the cost of fabric, specialized packaging to prevent moisture, and logistics. For long-term partnerships, discuss flexible MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) terms, especially if you require multiple colorways (patterns) within the same slub specification.
Fabric is susceptible to moisture and physical damage. Ensure the supplier uses double-layer packaging (inner plastic bag + outer woven bag). For sea freight, specify the use of desiccants in the container to prevent 'container rain' which can cause mildew on natural fibers. Ensure all rolls are labeled with batch numbers and yardage for easy customs clearance and inventory reconciliation.
Always use Secured Payment services provided by the platform to protect your funds until the goods are shipped. Avoid direct transfers to private accounts. It is advisable to sign a Sales Contract that clearly defines the quality tolerance levels (e.g., 5% defect rate allowance) and the dispute resolution mechanism under international trade laws.
