Wifi onu manufacturers

When selecting a Wifi ONU (Optical Network Unit), you must prioritize GPON/EPON compatibility (or Dual-mode/XPON) to ensure it matches your OLT (Optical Line Terminal) infrastructure. For performance, look for Dual-band support (2.4GHz & 5GHz) with 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) or 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) standards to meet modern bandwidth demands. Ensure the device features Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports rather than Fast Ethernet (FE) to prevent bottlenecks in high-speed fiber plans. Additionally, verify the Antenna Gain (typically 5dBi) for optimal signal coverage.

To ensure safety and interoperability, the product must adhere to ITU-T G.984 (for GPON) or IEEE 802.3ah (for EPON) standards. For international trade, look for CE, FCC, and RoHS certifications to guarantee electromagnetic compatibility and environmental safety. If the ONU includes VoIP functions, ensure it supports SIP or H.248 protocols. Always request MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) reports to assess long-term hardware reliability.

Cost-efficiency is achieved by balancing hardware specs with software stability. Instead of focusing solely on the lowest unit price, evaluate the firmware customization options (TR-069 support for remote management), which significantly reduces after-sales maintenance costs. Negotiate tiered pricing based on volume; for instance, orders exceeding 1,000 units typically command a 10-15% discount. Consider SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) shipping if you have local assembly capabilities to reduce import duties.

For FTTH (Fiber to the Home), a standard 1GE+3FE+Wifi or 4GE+Wifi model is sufficient for residential internet and IPTV. For SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) environments, prioritize models with POTS (RJ11) ports for voice services and USB ports for local file sharing. In high-density deployments, Wi-Fi 6 ONUs are recommended to handle multiple concurrent connections without latency.

The biggest risk is OLT-ONU interoperability. Many manufacturers use proprietary OMS (Operation and Maintenance Center) protocols. To mitigate this, always request a sample for compatibility testing with your specific OLT brand (e.g., Huawei, ZTE, or Nokia) before placing a bulk order. Another risk is firmware language barriers; ensure the Web UI and management interface support English or your local language.

Focus on technical support and warranty terms. Demand a 12 to 24-month warranty and clarify the process for RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). Ask if they provide SDK/API access for custom firmware integration. For payment security, utilize secured payment terms and consider third-party factory audits to verify the supplier's production capacity and QC processes.

Wifi ONUs contain sensitive electronic components and should be shipped with anti-static packaging and moisture-proof desiccant. Ensure the outer cartons are double-walled to prevent crushing. For shipping to specific regions, clarify the HS Code (typically 851762) to accurately calculate import tariffs. If shipping by sea, ensure the pallets are fumigated and shrink-wrapped to protect against salt-air corrosion.
