Travel goods manufacturers

When sourcing travel goods, prioritize materials like Polycarbonate (PC) for hard-shell luggage due to its impact resistance, or Ballistic Nylon (1680D or higher) for soft-shell bags to ensure tear resistance. For zippers, always specify YKK or SBS brand explosion-proof zippers to prevent bursting under pressure. Ensure that wheels are 360-degree dual-spinner wheels with TPE coating for silent and smooth operation across various terrains.

For the US market, products must comply with California Proposition 65 regarding lead and phthalate content. For the EU, REACH regulation compliance is essential to ensure no harmful chemicals are present in synthetic fabrics or plastics. Additionally, if the travel goods include integrated power banks or electronic tracking, they must pass UN38.3, CE, and FCC certifications to be legally sold and transported by air.

Request third-party lab reports for fabric colorfastness (Grade 4 or higher) and shrinkage. For memory foam products, verify the density (minimum 50D) to ensure long-term shape retention. For travel organizers, check for reinforced cross-stitching at stress points and the use of breathable mesh panels to prevent moisture buildup during long-duration travel.

High-end travel goods should feature TSA-approved integrated locks, built-in digital scales with a precision of ±0.1kg, and removable battery compartments to comply with airline safety regulations. Integration with Bluetooth proximity sensors for anti-lost alerts is a significant value-add for premium B2B segments.

The most common risks include volumetric weight discrepancies and quality inconsistency between samples and bulk production. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify that the final goods match the approved golden sample.

Since luggage is high-volume but relatively low-weight, negotiate for 'Nested Packaging' (placing smaller suitcases inside larger ones) to significantly reduce shipping volume. For large orders, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over freight forwarder selection and avoid the hidden markups often found in CIF pricing.

Always conduct transactions through verified payment channels provided by professional platforms like Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Utilize Escrow-based payment systems where funds are only released to the supplier after you have confirmed receipt and quality of the goods.

Ensure the supplier provides a formal Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from preferential tariffs under specific trade agreements (like RCEP). Verify that all HS Codes (typically 4202 for travel goods) are correctly declared on the commercial invoice to avoid customs delays or unexpected anti-dumping duties in the destination country.
