Titanium glasses manufacturers

When sourcing, it is critical to understand that Pure Titanium (99%+) is prized for its extreme corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, making it ideal for sensitive skin. Beta Titanium, an alloy of titanium with elements like vanadium or molybdenum, offers superior elasticity and memory properties, allowing for thinner, more flexible temples that do not deform easily. Always request a Material Analysis Report to verify the specific alloy grade.

For international trade, ensure products comply with ISO 12870, which dictates the fundamental requirements for unglazed spectacle frames. For the US market, FDA registration is mandatory as glasses are classified as Class I medical devices. For the EU, CE Marking and compliance with REACH regulations (specifically regarding nickel release, even in titanium alloys) are essential to ensure the product is safe for long-term skin contact.

The quality is largely defined by the welding and plating techniques. High-end suppliers use Vacuum Ion Plating (IP) rather than water electroplating, as IP provides a thicker, more durable finish that resists sweat and friction. Additionally, look for Laser Welding at the bridge and hinges, which ensures a clean, high-strength bond without the bulkiness or brittleness associated with traditional soldering.

A standard Pure Titanium frame typically weighs between 7g to 15g (without demo lenses). Buyers should request the net weight specifications for each model. If a frame exceeds 20g, it may be a titanium-nickel alloy or have heavy stainless steel components. Weight-to-strength ratio is the primary selling point for B2B retail, so verifying this via pre-shipment samples is non-negotiable.

The most common risk is receiving 'titanium-plated' steel frames. To prevent this, include a clause in your contract specifying chemical composition testing. You can perform a simple magnet test (pure titanium is non-magnetic) or check for the 'Titan' or 'Ti-P' stamp on the temples. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection service like SGS or Intertek to conduct a spectroscopy test before final payment.

Focus on MOQ flexibility for assorted colors rather than just the total unit count. Since titanium production requires expensive molds, ask if the supplier has 'Ready-to-Ship' (RTS) stock to allow for smaller trial orders. Negotiate for OEM branding (laser engraving) to be included in the unit price for orders exceeding 300 pieces, and always clarify if the price includes packaging (cases and microfiber cloths).

Eyewear is susceptible to pressure damage. Ensure the supplier uses reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and that each frame is protected by a polybag and individual inner box. For US imports, ensure the supplier provides the Drop Ball Test certificate (impact resistance) to avoid customs seizures. For shipping, Air Freight is recommended for high-value titanium frames to reduce lead times and minimize the risk of moisture-related damage during long sea voyages.

Always utilize Secured Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of receipt and quality. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Establish a Quality Assurance Agreement (QAA) that defines the 'AQL' (Acceptable Quality Level) and outlines the refund or replacement process for defective hinges or plating peels.
