Tea light manufacturers

Buyers must distinguish between Paraffin wax (cost-effective, common) and Soy or Beeswax (eco-friendly, longer burn time, soot-free). Ensure the wick is lead-free cotton to comply with safety standards. For the container, aluminum cups are standard for heat dissipation, while clear polycarbonate cups are preferred for premium aesthetic displays as they allow the flame's glow to be visible from the sides.

Standard tea lights typically offer 2, 4, or 8-hour burn times. You should request a Burn Test Report from the supplier to ensure the flame remains consistent and the wax consumes fully without leaving significant residue (tunneling). For scented tea lights, verify the fragrance load (usually 3-5%) to ensure a sufficient 'cold throw' and 'hot throw' without compromising the structural integrity of the wax.

For the US market, products must adhere to ASTM F2417 (Standard Specification for Candle Fire Safety). In the EU, compliance with EN 15493 (Fire Safety) and EN 15426 (Sooting Behavior) is essential. Additionally, ensure the packaging includes CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) labels if the candles are scented, to disclose potential allergens as per regional chemical regulations.

LED tea lights are ideal for high-traffic commercial venues (hotels, restaurants) where open flames are a fire hazard. Key specs include battery life (CR2032 or CR2045), flicker-effect realism, and IP44 waterproofing for outdoor events. While the initial unit cost is higher, the reusability and lack of fire insurance premiums make them more economically feasible for event planners.

Tea lights are prone to melting or deformation if stored in high-temperature containers during summer transit. It is critical to use reefer containers for large volumes or ensure the cargo is stowed 'below deck' away from heat sources. Always include silica gel desiccant packs in the master cartons to prevent moisture from affecting the wicks or causing 'frosting' on the wax surface.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; because tea lights are low-margin commodities, a 10% price break is often achievable when moving from 10,000 to 50,000 units. Negotiate for customized retail packaging (PDQ displays) to be included in the FOB price, which adds significant value for big-box retail buyers. Always request a pre-production sample to verify that the wax color matches your brand requirements exactly.

Utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to ensure payments are only released upon proof of shipment. For large orders, hire a third-party inspector (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a 'During Production Check' (DUPRO) and a 'Final Random Inspection' (FRI) to verify quantity, weight, and wick centering before the balance payment is made.

Be aware that certain regions, such as the EU and USA, have historically applied anti-dumping duties on Chinese-made candles. Always check the current Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 3406.00) against your country's tariff schedule. Work with suppliers who can provide a Certificate of Origin and have experience navigating specific trade barriers to avoid unexpected costs at customs.
