Rice straw manufacturers

When evaluating rice straws, prioritize the material composition, which typically consists of rice flour and tapioca starch. Ensure the shelf life is at least 12 to 24 months when stored in dry conditions. For performance, the straw must maintain its structural integrity in cold water for at least 2 to 4 hours and in warm water for 30 to 60 minutes without becoming soggy or dissolving. Standard dimensions usually range from 6mm to 12mm in diameter (for bubble tea) and 20cm to 22cm in length.

As a food-contact product, rice straws must meet strict safety standards. You should require FDA (U.S.) or LFGB (Germany/EU) food-grade certification. Additionally, verify the product's eco-credentials through ISO 14855 or EN 13432 (Compostability standards). Ensure the manufacturer holds an ISO 22000 or HACCP certification to guarantee food safety management during the production process.

Request a sample test to check for brittleness and cracking, which are common defects in poorly manufactured rice straws. Perform a soak test to measure the 'soggy rate' and ensure there is no significant aftertaste that could alter the flavor of the beverage. Check for smoothness of the edges to ensure user safety and confirm that natural food-grade colorants are used if the straws are tinted.

Rice straws are organic and sensitive to moisture. They must be stored in a cool, dry environment with a humidity level below 60% to prevent mold growth or premature degradation. During shipping, ensure the use of desiccants in the containers and verify that the packaging is moisture-proof (e.g., sealed PE bags or high-quality kraft boxes).

To prevent moisture damage, specify vacuum packaging or moisture-barrier inner linings in your contract. Use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain better control over the shipping timeline and choose a freight forwarder experienced in handling perishable or organic goods. Always insist on a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify the moisture content before the goods leave the factory.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; for rice straws, increasing your order from 100,000 to 500,000 units can often reduce the unit price by 15-25%. Negotiate for customized packaging (OEM) included in the price to enhance your brand value. If you are a long-term buyer, request flexible payment terms such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to improve your cash flow.

Always conduct transactions through secured payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer trade security services. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the HS Code (typically 1902.19 for rice-based products), detailed specifications, and agreed-upon quality benchmarks to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.

Many countries have implemented Single-Use Plastic (SUP) bans, which increases the demand and potential import duties for alternatives. Check your local customs tariff schedule for specific duties on 'edible preparations' or 'biodegradable products.' Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO), which may qualify the shipment for reduced tariffs under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
