Pu cosmetic case manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize High-Grade PU (Polyurethane) Leather with a thickness of at least 0.8mm to 1.2mm to ensure durability and a premium tactile feel. It is essential to verify the water-resistance and scratch-resistance properties of the surface. For the interior, look for easy-to-clean polyester or nylon linings with anti-bacterial coatings, especially for professional makeup kits where hygiene is paramount.

For the EU market, products must comply with REACH regulations to ensure the absence of harmful phthalates and heavy metals in the PU material. For the US market, adherence to California Proposition 65 is critical. Additionally, sourcing from suppliers with ISO 9001 or BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certifications ensures that the manufacturing process meets international quality and ethical labor standards.

Focus on the zipper quality, specifically requesting YKK or high-tensile nylon zippers that can withstand over 5,000 opening/closing cycles. For hard-shell PU cases, check the MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) or ABS frame thickness to prevent warping. Ensure that stitching density is at least 7-9 stitches per inch to prevent seam bursting under the weight of heavy cosmetics.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services, including debossed or silk-screened logos, custom Pantone color matching, and adjustable EVA dividers. For high-end brands, consider requesting custom-molded metal hardware (pullers and buckles) with electroplated finishes to prevent oxidation and enhance brand perceived value.

The primary risk is 'Material Substitution', where a supplier uses PVC instead of PU to lower costs, leading to a chemical odor and poor durability. To mitigate this, request a pre-shipment sample and utilize third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a smell test and cross-section analysis. Another risk is hydrolysis (peeling) due to poor storage; ensure the supplier uses silica gel desiccant packets in every individual polybag.

Leverage the tiered pricing model: typical discounts of 10-15% are achievable when moving from a 500-unit MOQ to a 2,000-unit order. If you are a startup, negotiate a 'Sample-to-Order' credit, where the sample fee is deducted from the first bulk order. Always confirm if the quoted price is FOB (Free On Board), as this gives you better control over shipping costs and logistics through your own forwarder.

PU cases are susceptible to pressure deformation. Ensure the supplier uses 5-layer corrugated export cartons with corner protectors. For large vanity cases, specify that they must be packed with inflatable air pillows inside the case to maintain shape during long-term sea freight stacking. For shipping to the US or Europe, consider Sea + UPS/FedEx (Matson) routes for a balance between cost-efficiency and speed.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, utilizing their Audit Reports to verify the supplier's factory location and production capacity. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts. Use Trade Terms (Incoterms 2020) clearly in the Proforma Invoice (PI) to define the point of risk transfer.
