Printed exercise books manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize paper weight (GSM), typically ranging from 60gsm to 80gsm for standard school use. The binding method is critical for durability; saddle stitching is cost-effective for thin books, while thread sewing or glue binding is better for thicker volumes. Additionally, ensure the brightness level of the paper is eye-friendly (usually 85%-92%) to prevent visual fatigue for students.

Request samples to verify ruling consistency, ensuring lines are perfectly horizontal and spaced according to specific requirements (e.g., 8mm single line or squared). The ink quality should be non-toxic and smudge-proof. For cover printing, specify CMYK offset printing with PP lamination or UV coating to provide water resistance and prevent tearing during frequent use.

Since these products are often used by children, they must comply with EN71-3 (European Standard) or ASTM F963 (US Standard) regarding heavy metal content in inks and paper. Ensure the supplier provides FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification if your brand promotes environmental sustainability, guaranteeing the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Customized covers and inner pages usually require a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 5,000 to 10,000 units to be economically feasible. Plate-making fees are a one-time cost but can add to the initial price. Standard production lead times on Made-in-China.com typically range from 15 to 25 days after artwork approval, depending on the complexity of the finishing (e.g., foil stamping or embossing).

The biggest risks are moisture damage during sea transit and weight-related shipping costs. Ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty corrugated export cartons with internal waterproof polybags. Because paper is heavy, sea freight is the only viable option for bulk orders; however, you must factor in the fluctuation of pulp prices, which can affect quotes if not locked in quickly.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers. Ask for a breakdown of material costs vs. printing costs. You can often negotiate a lower unit price by standardizing the inner page ruling across different cover designs, which reduces machine downtime. Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) to be signed off before the full run to avoid mass-production errors.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) to check the quantity, weight, and printing quality before the final balance is paid.
