Plastic coffin handle manufacturers

When sourcing plastic coffin handles, the primary material used is typically ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) or PP (Polypropylene) due to their high tensile strength and impact resistance. It is crucial to ensure the plastic is virgin grade rather than recycled to prevent brittleness. For premium aesthetics, look for handles with electroplated finishes (Gold, Silver, or Bronze) that meet salt spray test standards (usually 24-48 hours) to ensure the coating does not peel or tarnish during storage or transport.

Safety is the most critical factor. You must verify the static load-bearing capacity, which should typically exceed 150kg to 200kg per set of handles depending on the coffin type. Ask suppliers for tensile strength test reports. Additionally, check the reinforcement structure inside the handle; high-quality designs often include steel inserts or thickened ribbing at the screw attachment points to prevent the plastic from snapping under heavy weight.

Handles generally fall into two categories: Fixed handles and Swing-bar handles. Ensure the hole distance (pitch) matches your existing coffin production templates (common standards include 160mm, 192mm, or 224mm). If you are sourcing for metal caskets, ensure the handle base is compatible with the curvature of the casket side. For cremation-specific use, confirm that the plastic and coatings are combustible and non-toxic, leaving minimal residue and emitting no harmful gases, in compliance with environmental funeral regulations.

Prioritize suppliers who adhere to ISO 9001 quality management systems. Specific to this product, request a Color Consistency Report to ensure that handles, corners, and crucifixes in a single set match perfectly. Inspect for injection molding defects such as burrs, sink marks, or air bubbles, which can compromise both the aesthetic appeal and the structural integrity of the handle.

Plastic handles are prone to scratching and breakage. Insist on individual polybag packaging for each handle to protect the electroplated surface. For bulk shipping, use double-walled corrugated export cartons with internal foam dividers. On Made-in-China.com, you can request the supplier to provide photos of the palletization and container loading process to ensure the bottom boxes aren't crushed by over-stacking.

Since these are often mass-produced, volume-based pricing is highly effective. Negotiate a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops significantly at the 1,000-set or 5,000-set mark. Additionally, negotiate for 2% extra spare parts (screws and washers) to be included free of charge to account for any minor hardware losses during assembly.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released after you confirm receipt of goods. Before placing a large order, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform an In-Process Inspection (IPI) to verify that the plastic grade and plating quality match the approved samples.

Check the HS Code (typically 3926.90) for import duties in your country. Be aware that some regions have strict anti-dumping duties on specific plastic products. For shipping, because handles are relatively heavy but compact, LCL (Less than Container Load) sea freight is usually the most cost-effective method. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to help you benefit from any applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTA).
