Panel light manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Luminous Efficacy, aiming for at least 100-120 lm/W to ensure energy efficiency. Pay close attention to the Driver Quality, as the driver is the most common point of failure; look for flicker-free drivers with a Power Factor (PF) > 0.9. Additionally, verify the Color Rendering Index (CRI), where a CRI > 80 is standard for offices, while CRI > 90 is preferred for retail or healthcare settings to ensure accurate color representation.

Edge-lit panels are ultra-slim and offer very uniform light distribution without hotspots, making them ideal for high-end aesthetic designs. However, Back-lit panels are generally more cost-effective and efficient because the light does not have to pass through a light guide plate, though they are slightly thicker. For long-term durability, ensure Back-lit models use PMMA lenses over the LEDs to prevent yellowing over time.

For the European market, products must have CE, RoHS, and ErP certifications. For the North American market, UL or ETL listing is critical for safety, and DLC (DesignLights Consortium) qualification is often required for customers to claim energy rebates. Ensure the supplier provides a valid test report from a recognized third-party lab like TUV or SGS to avoid customs clearance issues.

Confirm the IP Rating based on the environment; IP20 is sufficient for standard offices, but IP44 or IP65 is necessary for hospitals or kitchens. Check the frame material, prioritizing 6063 Aluminum for better heat dissipation. Also, verify if the supplier provides versatile mounting kits for recessed, suspended, or surface-mounted installations to meet diverse project needs.

Implement a stricter QC protocol by requesting a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Specifically, demand an Aging Test report where lights are kept on for at least 24-48 hours to identify early-stage component failures. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can also provide a layer of protection, ensuring payment is only released when quality benchmarks are met.

Focus on the Bill of Materials (BOM) transparency. Ask the supplier to specify the LED chip brand (e.g., San'an, Bridgelux) and the driver brand (e.g., Lifud, MeanWell). Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership, including warranty terms; a reputable supplier should offer a 3 to 5-year warranty. For large volumes, aim for a 5-10% discount or request free spare drivers (1-2%) to be included in the shipment.

Panel lights are fragile and prone to bending or surface scratches. Insist on reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and individual inner boxes with EPE foam corner protectors. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, it is mandatory to request palletization with shrink wrap to prevent mishandling at transit hubs.

Be aware of Anti-dumping duties or specific tariffs like Section 301 for U.S. imports from certain regions. Always check the HS Code (typically 940542) to calculate accurate import duties. Ensure the Certificate of Origin is provided to take advantage of any Free Trade Agreements (FTA) that might exist between the shipping country and your destination.
