Metal table frame manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Cold-Rolled Steel for a smooth finish or Stainless Steel (Grade 304 or 316) for superior corrosion resistance in outdoor or medical environments. Ensure the wall thickness is at least 1.2mm to 2.0mm to prevent structural warping under heavy loads. For high-end applications, verify that the welding points are full-seam welded and ground smooth rather than spot-welded to ensure long-term joint integrity.

The most reliable method is Electrostatic Powder Coating, which offers high resistance to scratches and chipping. For a premium aesthetic, Electroplating (such as PVD coating) is recommended for gold or chrome finishes. Ensure the supplier performs a Salt Spray Test (minimum 24-48 hours) to guarantee the frame can withstand humidity without rusting, especially for cross-border shipping where sea air is a factor.

Confirm the pre-drilled hole patterns and ensure they include expansion slots to allow for the natural movement of wood tops. If the frame is intended for glass or stone tops, verify the inclusion of non-slip rubber gaskets or specialized mounting brackets. Request CAD or BIM files from the supplier to verify dimensions and load-bearing capacity (ideally >100kg for office desks and >200kg for dining tables).

For the US market, ensure compliance with BIFMA X5.5 for desk/table products. For the EU, look for EN 527 standards regarding stability and mechanical strength. Additionally, verify that all coating materials are LEAD-FREE and REACH/RoHS compliant to avoid customs seizures and ensure user safety.

The biggest risks are surface abrasion and structural bending during transit. Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons with EPE foam edge protectors and individual bubble wrapping for each component. For bulk orders, palletization with plastic strapping is mandatory to prevent shifting inside the container.

Start by requesting a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 50, 200, and 500 units). Many professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM customization; you can negotiate a lower unit price by committing to a blanket purchase order with scheduled releases. Always clarify if the quoted price is FOB (Free On Board) to maintain control over your shipping costs and logistics providers.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by the platform to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment. Before the final payment, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify quantity, welding quality, and coating thickness against your approved sample.

Check the specific HS Code (typically 9403.90) for your target country to determine applicable tariffs. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU or USA) may impose on specific steel products from certain origins. Consult with a licensed customs broker to ensure all documentation, including the Certificate of Origin, is accurately prepared to claim any available preferential tariffs.
