Meta glasses manufacturers

When sourcing smart glasses, you must prioritize optical performance and processing power. Key specs include camera resolution (minimum 12MP for clear capture), audio integration (open-ear speakers with noise-canceling microphones), and battery life (at least 4-6 hours of active use). Ensure the chipset supports Bluetooth 5.2 or higher for stable connectivity and that the lenses offer UV400 protection or blue light filtering as a standard feature.

As electronic wearables, these products must meet strict regulatory requirements. For the US market, FCC certification is mandatory for wireless components, alongside FDA registration if the glasses are marketed with prescription lenses. For the EU, CE marking (including RoHS and RED directives) is essential. Additionally, ensure the battery cells have UN38.3 and MSDS reports to facilitate international shipping.

Request the supplier to provide IPX4 or higher water resistance ratings to ensure protection against sweat and rain. Evaluate the hinge durability through cycle testing reports (minimum 10,000 folds). For the frame material, TR90 or high-grade acetate is preferred for its lightweight and flexible properties, preventing breakage during daily wear.

Top-tier suppliers on Made-in-China.com should offer app integration (SDK availability) for custom software features. On the hardware side, look for logo laser-engraving on the temples, customized packaging, and the ability to swap between polarized, photochromic, or prescription-ready lenses to meet diverse consumer needs.

The biggest risks involve Intellectual Property (IP) infringement and battery safety. Ensure the supplier has the legal right to export the specific design and that the lithium batteries are genuine and certified. Using Trade Messenger on Made-in-China.com to document all technical promises and requesting a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) can mitigate the risk of receiving defective electronics.

Negotiate based on component transparency. Ask for a breakdown of the sensor, lens, and chip costs. For new tech, aim for a lower initial MOQ (e.g., 50-100 units) to test market response, offering to pay a slightly higher unit price in exchange for staged quality gates. Remind the supplier that long-term partnership and repeat orders are contingent on the first batch's failure rate being below 1%.

Smart glasses contain integrated lithium batteries, which are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods. You should use specialized electronics couriers or air freight that provide Battery PI967 packaging compliance. For large volumes, sea freight is more economical, but ensure the containers are climate-controlled to prevent battery degradation due to extreme heat during transit.

Always conduct transactions through secured payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Utilize Escrow services where payment is only released to the supplier after you confirm the goods meet the agreed-upon specifications. Never wire full payments to private bank accounts; always use the company’s verified corporate account.
