Jelly bean manufacturers

When sourcing jelly beans, prioritize suppliers that use high-quality sugar, corn syrup, and food-grade starch. For premium markets, look for natural fruit concentrates and plant-based colorants (such as turmeric or beetroot) rather than synthetic dyes. Ensure the product has a consistent shell thickness to prevent cracking and a soft, chewy interior that does not stick to teeth. Always verify that the supplier adheres to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO 22000 food safety management systems.

Compliance is critical in food sourcing. For the US market, FDA registration and compliance with the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) are mandatory. For the EU, products must meet REACH and EFSA regulations, specifically regarding permitted food additives and E-numbers. If targeting specific consumer segments, ensure the supplier provides Halal, Kosher, or Vegan certifications, as these significantly increase marketability and consumer trust.

Jelly beans are sensitive to humidity and temperature. You should require moisture-proof, food-grade PE or PET packaging. For bulk shipments, double-layered corrugated cartons with desiccants are recommended to prevent clumping or melting. Ensure the packaging includes clear labeling with production dates, shelf life (typically 12–24 months), ingredient lists in the destination language, and allergen warnings (e.g., 'processed in a facility that handles nuts').

Yes, most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. This includes custom flavor development, unique color matching to align with corporate branding, and private label packaging (such as branded pouches, jars, or tins). When requesting customization, specify the Pantone colors for the beans and provide high-resolution artwork for the packaging to ensure brand consistency.

To prevent melting or sugar bloom, use reefer containers (refrigerated containers) if shipping through tropical climate zones, maintaining a temperature between 15°C and 20°C. Avoid shipping during peak summer months if using standard dry containers. Always include a Temperature Data Logger in the shipment to monitor conditions and provide evidence for insurance claims if the cargo is compromised.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for example, aim for a 10-15% discount when moving from a 1-ton to a 5-ton order. Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify that the batch matches the approved sample. Negotiate payment terms such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to protect your cash flow.

Utilize the Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are protected until the goods are shipped. Conduct a Factory Audit (either virtual or via a third-party agent) to confirm the supplier's production capacity and hygiene standards. Always verify the supplier's Business License and export qualifications before transferring any funds.

Be aware of Sugar Taxes or specific import duties that some countries (like the UK or Mexico) impose on high-sugar snacks. Check the Rules of Origin to see if your country has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the supplier's country, which could significantly reduce or eliminate import tariffs using a Certificate of Origin.
