When sourcing adult products, the most critical factor is body-safe materials. You must ensure the products are made of 100% medical-grade silicone, non-porous TPE, or borosilicate glass. For the EU market, compliance with REACH and RoHS is mandatory to ensure no harmful phthalates or heavy metals are present. For the US market, products should ideally meet FDA-grade material standards to ensure they are hypoallergenic and non-toxic.

For vibrating models, focus on motor quality and noise levels (ideally <50dB). Check the battery capacity (mAh) and whether it uses magnetic USB charging for better waterproofing. For non-vibrating models, prioritize ergonomic design and suction cup strength. Ensure all electronic components have CE and FCC certifications to guarantee electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility.

To ensure product longevity and hygiene, look for an IPX7 waterproof rating, which allows the device to be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. This is essential not only for usage scenarios but also for thorough sterilization and cleaning, which is a key selling point for end consumers.

Request tensile strength test reports to ensure the silicone does not tear easily under pressure. Additionally, confirm the shore hardness (Durometer); a range of 30A to 50A is typical for a realistic feel. Ask the supplier for aging test data to ensure the material does not become 'sticky' or degrade during long-term storage in warehouse conditions.

Adult products are often classified as 'sensitive goods' by customs. It is vital to use discreet packaging (no product descriptions or images on the outer box). Ensure the HS Code (typically 9019.10 or 3926.90) is correctly declared. Work with freight forwarders experienced in handling adult categories to avoid seizure or delays at the border.

When sourcing on Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' to ensure factory legitimacy. Negotiate based on MOQ tiers; for example, a 500-unit order should typically yield a 15-20% discount compared to sample pricing. Always request a pre-production sample and insist on a Quality Agreement that defines the acceptable defect rate (AQL 1.5/4.0).

Always use secure payment methods provided by the platform or Escrow services. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Utilize Third-Party Inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before the balance payment is released to ensure the goods match your specifications.

Be aware that regulations regarding adult content and products vary significantly by country. Ensure your marketing materials and packaging comply with local decency laws. In some regions, you must include specific age-warning labels (18+) and user manuals in the local language to meet consumer protection statutes.
