Ddr2 2gb ram manufacturers

When sourcing DDR2 2GB RAM, you must first verify the frequency compatibility (e.g., 533MHz, 667MHz, or 800MHz) to ensure it matches the motherboard's front-side bus. It is critical to distinguish between Desktop DIMM (240-pin) and Laptop SO-DIMM (200-pin) form factors. For enterprise clients, prioritize original DRAM chips from reputable manufacturers like Samsung, Hynix, or Micron to ensure a low failure rate (<0.3%) and long-term stability in 24/7 operating environments.

Ensure the modules adhere to JEDEC standards for timing and voltage (typically 1.8V for DDR2). For international trade, products must be RoHS compliant to meet environmental regulations in the EU and North America. If the RAM is intended for servers, verify if ECC (Error Correction Code) or Registered/Buffered memory is required, as these are not compatible with standard consumer-grade motherboards.

Since DDR2 is a legacy technology, many units on the market are refurbished. Buyers should request MemTest86+ stress test reports from the supplier to confirm stability. Check for gold finger oxidation; high-quality suppliers will provide modules with clean, re-plated, or well-maintained contacts. Always ask for a warranty period of at least 12 to 36 months, which is a standard indicator of a supplier's confidence in their testing process.

DDR2 is in the 'end-of-life' stage, meaning supply is tightening while niche demand remains steady for industrial controllers and medical equipment. To optimize costs, aim for bulk quantities (MOQ 100+ units) to reduce the per-unit shipping overhead. Sourcing via Made-in-China.com allows you to connect with specialized memory wholesalers who offer tiered pricing, where 500+ units can often yield a 15-20% discount compared to small-batch retail prices.

The biggest risk is counterfeit or 're-marked' chips, where lower-speed chips are labeled as high-speed. To mitigate this, use Secure Payment services on Made-in-China.com and insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI). Another risk is Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage during transit; ensure the supplier uses anti-static shielding bags and rigid outer packaging to prevent physical or electrical degradation.

In the electronics industry, a 1% DOA (Dead on Arrival) allowance is common, but for legacy RAM, you should negotiate a 'replace-with-next-order' policy or a small percentage of buffer stock (0.5-1%) included for free to cover immediate failures. Clearly define the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process, including who bears the international shipping cost for returns—typically, the buyer pays for return shipping while the supplier pays for the replacement shipping.

RAM modules are high-value but low-volume, making Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) the most viable method for speed and security. Ensure the HS Code (typically 8473.30) is correctly declared on the commercial invoice to avoid customs delays. Be aware of import duties and VAT in your specific country; for example, many regions have specific de minimis values that can exempt small sample orders from heavy taxation.
