Compression shirt manufacturers

When sourcing high-performance compression shirts, prioritize fabric composition, typically a blend of 80-85% Polyester or Nylon and 15-20% Spandex (Elastane) to ensure optimal elasticity. Look for a fabric weight between 180-250 GSM to balance durability with breathability. Essential technical features include Four-Way Stretch technology for unrestricted movement, Flatlock Stitching to prevent skin chafing during high-intensity activity, and Moisture-Wicking treatments that pull sweat away from the body to maintain thermal regulation.

To ensure market access and consumer safety, verify that the products meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which guarantees the absence of harmful substances in textiles. For the U.S. market, compliance with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is necessary if targeting youth sizes. Additionally, ensure the supplier adheres to ISO 9001 for quality management and BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) or WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) to meet ethical sourcing requirements demanded by global retailers.

Compression levels are measured in mmHg (millimeters of mercury). For standard athletic wear, a mild compression of 8-15 mmHg is common, while recovery-grade gear may require 15-20 mmHg. You should request third-party lab test reports (such as from SGS or Intertek) that specifically measure pressure distribution and recovery power. Avoid suppliers who cannot provide technical data on elasticity retention after repeated wash cycles, as poor-quality spandex will lose its compressive properties quickly.

To stand out, seek suppliers offering Sublimation Printing, which allows for vibrant, full-color designs that won't crack or peel under stretch. Other high-value customizations include Reflective Heat Transfers for night-time safety, Laser-cut ventilation holes in high-sweat zones (underarms/back), and Anti-bacterial/Anti-odor finishes (such as silver ion treatment). Ensure the supplier can provide customized neck labels and hangtags to build brand identity from the first order.

Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) before authorizing mass production. For bulk orders, hire a third-party inspection service to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) or a Final Random Inspection (FRI). Focus the inspection on seam strength (pull tests), colorfastness to perspiration, and size consistency against the provided size chart, as compression garments have tighter tolerances than standard apparel.

Start by highlighting your long-term growth potential rather than just the initial order volume. If the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) is too high (e.g., 500 pieces per color), negotiate to split the MOQ across multiple sizes or offer to pay a slightly higher unit price for a trial order of 100-200 pieces. To reduce unit costs, consider consolidating fabric types across different designs to help the supplier reach their fabric mill's minimums, which can lead to a 10-15% price reduction.

Utilize secure payment methods and consider using the Star Security Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until shipping is confirmed. For large contracts, use a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment structure, where the balance is paid only after a successful third-party quality inspection and receipt of the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy. Never wire full payments to personal bank accounts; always ensure the account name matches the registered company name on the business license.

For small trial batches (under 100kg), Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is fastest but expensive. For medium volumes, Air Freight to a major hub combined with local trucking is a balanced choice. For bulk inventory, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical. When shipping to the U.S. or Europe, clarify the Incoterms; FOB (Free On Board) is generally preferred for buyers who have their own freight forwarder, while DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is more convenient for beginners as it includes all customs duties and taxes in the quote.
