Cctv camera lens manufacturers

The choice of focal length determines the Field of View (FOV) and magnification. For wide-area monitoring like parking lots, a 2.8mm or 4mm lens is ideal as it provides a broad angle. For long-distance identification, such as capturing license plates or facial details at a gate, a 12mm to 50mm telephoto lens or a Varifocal lens is required to allow for manual or motorized adjustment of the zoom level.

You must prioritize the Aperture (F-number). A lower F-number (e.g., F1.0 or F1.2) allows more light to reach the sensor, significantly improving image quality in dark environments. Additionally, ensure the lens is IR-Corrected (Infrared) to prevent focus shift when the camera switches from day mode to night vision mode.

The lens must support a format size equal to or larger than the camera's image sensor (e.g., a 1/2.7" lens works on a 1/3" sensor, but not vice versa). Furthermore, the Lens Resolution (Megapixel rating) must match or exceed the camera sensor's resolution (e.g., use a 5MP lens for a 5MP sensor) to avoid blurring and ensure optical clarity.

Most professional CCTV cameras use CS-mount or C-mount interfaces. CS-mount is the modern standard, while C-mount lenses require a 5mm adapter ring to be used on CS-mount cameras. For smaller IP or dome cameras, M12 (S-mount) is the most common board lens thread.

Request the supplier to provide MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) curves, which are scientific charts measuring the lens's ability to transfer contrast and detail. For bulk orders, insist on a Golden Sample and use third-party inspection services to verify coating uniformity and the absence of chromatic aberration before final payment.

Lenses are highly susceptible to vibration, humidity, and temperature changes. Ensure the supplier uses anti-static, shock-absorbent packaging (EPE foam) and vacuum-sealed bags to prevent fungal growth on the glass. For high-value shipments, choose CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms to ensure the goods are covered against damage during transit.

Check if the products comply with RoHS and CE standards for the European market, or FCC for the US. Be aware of specific trade restrictions; for example, ensure the manufacturer is not on any entity lists related to regional security regulations. Always verify the HS Code (typically 9002.11) to calculate accurate import duties.

Focus on long-term yield rates rather than just the unit price. Ask for a tiered pricing structure based on volume and inquire about their R&D capabilities for custom focal lengths. Reliable suppliers on Made-in-China.com often provide OEM/ODM services and can offer a 1-2 year warranty on optical mechanical parts, which should be a key negotiation point.
