Main entrance door manufacturers

When sourcing main entrance doors, material selection directly impacts durability and security. Solid wood (such as Oak, Walnut, or Teak) offers premium aesthetics and natural insulation but requires kiln-drying to a moisture content of 8-12% to prevent warping. For high-security needs, armored steel doors with a thickness of at least 1.5mm to 2.0mm are preferred. Aluminum alloy doors are excellent for corrosion resistance in coastal areas. Ensure the core is filled with high-density rock wool or polyurethane foam for superior soundproofing and thermal insulation.

Security is the primary function of an entrance door. Buyers should specify multi-point locking systems (at least 3-5 locking points) and Grade 3 or higher security cylinders. For smart home integration, ensure compatibility with biometric (fingerprint) scanners, RFID, and mobile app controls. Hardware such as hinges should be 304 stainless steel to support heavy door leaves (often exceeding 80kg) and pass 200,000 cycle swing tests to ensure long-term operational reliability.

Compliance varies by destination. For the US market, doors must meet UL 10C or NFPA 252 for fire ratings and ASTM E283/E330 for air infiltration and structural performance. For the EU market, look for CE marking and compliance with EN 14351-1 (windows and doors standard) and EN 1627 for burglar resistance classes (RC2 or RC3 are standard for residential use). Always request VOC emission certificates for paints and finishes to ensure indoor air quality compliance.

To optimize energy efficiency, check the U-value (thermal transmittance); a lower U-value (ideally <1.6 W/m²K) indicates better insulation. Ensure the door features double or triple EPDM rubber gaskets for a tight seal against wind and rain. For doors with glass inserts, tempered double-glazing with Low-E coating and argon gas filling is essential to prevent heat loss and ensure safety against impact.

Entrance doors are heavy and prone to edge damage. Insist on Five-Layer Corrugated Cardboard packaging with EPE foam corner protectors and vacuum plastic film. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, it is mandatory to use fumigated wooden crates or pallets to prevent compression. On Made-in-China.com, you can request suppliers to provide pre-shipment packaging photos and drop-test reports to verify protection levels.

Focus on Total Landed Cost rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare hardware kits (hinges, handles, and seals) to be included at no extra cost (typically 2-3% extra). For large projects, request a staggered payment schedule (e.g., 30% deposit, 60% after QC inspection, 10% after receiving BL) and utilize Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until production milestones are met.

Avoid verbal descriptions; always provide CAD or BIM drawings for dimensions and opening directions (Left-hand vs. Right-hand). Request a Golden Sample for finish and color approval before mass production. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed Installation Manual and video guide, as international labor costs for fixing installation errors are prohibitively high.

Verify the factory's production capacity and specialized machinery, such as CNC cutting machines and dust-free painting rooms. Check their Quality Management System (ISO 9001). A critical check point is the raw material warehouse to ensure wood is stored in climate-controlled environments to prevent future cracking. You can find Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have already undergone rigorous on-site inspections by firms like SGS or TÜV Rheinland.
